Arm yourself against autumn
You craft beer drinkers are adventurous beasts. When you're not trying the latest and greatest brews from your favourite brewery, you're pairing your beer with food, mood and the seasons.
So as the temperatures this side of the equator begin to slide from balmy to baltic, talk at BrewDog HQ has turned to the kickass brews that will help us through those dark nights and suspect knitwear choices. Cue our autumn beer choices…
8 Wired – Big Smoke
8 Wired is one of our favourite Kiwi breweries. Big Smoke is a serious porter with added Bamberg Rauchmalz; a malt that will redefine your perception of smokey brews.
Try it around the campfire with your craft beer brothers and sisters. Marshmallows optional.
BrewDog – Libertine Black Ale
A pitch black ale with more than a hint of awesome Simcoe hops.
Drinkable to the extreme, this brew mixes the hoppy excellence of an IPA with the luxury of a top class stout while keeping things light and easy going. With aromas of passion fruit, apricot and pine, try pairing it with a hearty autumn stew for an added fruit kick.
BrewDog – Cocoa Pyscho
Stouts are a go-to style for autumn but we suggest you step things up a notch with this killer Russian Imperial.
Brewed with all the cocoa nibs, coffee beans, vanilla pods and dark malts we could cram into this indulgent little beer, it’s time to ditch that mug of cocoa in favour of something that’s really going to tuck you in to bed at night.
To ØL – Black Ball Porter
Black Ball is a compelling porter, filled with American hops and dark cassonade sugar it is impeccably balanced and gives an epic taste experience. Expect an awesome chocolatey, coffee, caramel attitude; delicate on the palate but with a rich aftertaste that is synonymous with this style.
Good for days when you need to be unnumbed from the cold.
BrewDog – Paradox Arran
It’s not autumn without a smack of whisky to palate, which is why we joined forces with the Isle of Arran Distillery to cask age this rock’n’roll Imperial Stout. Aged in former sherry turned whisky casks, the depth of flavour is insane with vanilla, ginger and cinnamon all putting in an appearance.
Drink Paradox Arran at room temperature, preferably from a snifter, sat in your favourite leather armchair with your two flaxen haired retrievers by your side.
Defect from this blog to our online shop immediately to arm yourself against autumn.
