OUR BAR ON THE EDGE

OUR BAR ON THE EDGE

Now that we are kegging and canning freshly-brewed Ohioan BrewDog beer, we are turning our eyes towards exactly where these beers might end up. And just as importantly, where our American friends will be able to enjoy them; our fleet of Stateside BrewDog Bars. But forget Main Street USA for a moment. We want something with a little more edge. Literally.

We’re planning to build an awesome craft beer bar on the border between the USA and Mexico.

BrewDog bars are the ideal environment in which to explore the eclectic world of craft beer, spend time with like-minded beer geeks and newcomers alike, and open yourself up to a whole new world of hop-fuelled goodness. We want our US BrewDog Bars to take on the baton beyond beer, bringing down barriers by preventing them from going up.

Some people lie down in front of bulldozers. That’s cool. We’re thinking of getting there before they even leave the lot.

Our 'Bar on the Edge' will take back the great frontier between the US and Mexico before it is taken away forever. Half in each, with amazing beer from both. Heck, you can order up a four-beer flight and drink two Mexican craft beers in the US and two from our Ohio brewhouse south of the border.

Since we rocked up in the USA we have been bowled over (for Americans: hit out of the park) by the attitude and enthusiasm of our new neighbours. From day one when Captain James touched down in Columbus we knew we’d made the right choice to construct our brewery there. We all know San Diego is awesome. Portland, too. Denver. But C-Bus? Oh hell yeah. We’re all in.

With our American bars, we want to harness that same spirit – the great American yearning for adventure, discovery and exploration, combined with a legendary welcome.

To celebrate the unveiling of these plans, we’re hosting a beery event in DogTap, Columbus this weekend, featuring a selection of some Texas and Mexico's finest liquid exports. This Tex-Mex Tap Takeover (try saying that three times fast…) will feature beers from various Texan breweries, and we'll be rocking craft beer cocktails with Mezcal and Tequila. Join us on Saturday to celebrate togetherness under the Tex-Mex umbrella.

So as we expand into the US, we are ready to begin finding where our closest communities are at. The walls we’ll be building aren’t for dividing people, but for bringing them together. Over a beer.

Nice concept. But it will never happen. The logistics are impossible.

LOL. Whereabouts, though?!

If my wife doesn't get her UK visa we'll gladly come staff the Mexican side of the bar :D

Tex/Mex Brewdog perfect mix of "Come and take it" and "Viva los Mexico." Brewdog rocks! Any idea where on the border? Doesn't matter than much to me, I will be driving from Austin regardless!
