ARE YOU A BEER BLOGGER OR BREWERY HOPPER?

We are psyched to get the Beer Geek Awards live for another year; they are dedicated to people who appreciate beer and to reward their passion. With seven different categories now taking entries, all you need to do is head to TheBeerGeekAwards.com to sign up. Last week we took a closer look at the awards for Beer Scholar and Beer Photographer so let’s dial into a couple of the other categories!

And don’t forget that for 2018 these awards are running in the UK/Europe AND the USA!

First up, if you love visiting breweries and seeing behind the scenes, then read on.

Brewery Hopper Geek

If checking out how beer is made is your thing then this category is for you. From city industrial estates to havens in the countryside no two brewery locations are the same – it’s why we love making the effort to visit and see brewing happen at source. It’s also the best way to gain an appreciation of our industry, hands down. So if you’ve put in the miles, we want to hear from you.

Tell us how many independent craft breweries you’ve visited in the last year and if you tally the most, then the Brewery Hopper Geek Award is yours! Add a picture of yourself there, link to a tweet you sent from the tour or point us in the direction of a blog or Facebook post you made when you got home. We’ll work out the numbers and if you have smelled the malt on the breeze at more independent craft breweries than anyone else in the UK/Europe or the USA, you’ll be crowned our Brewery Hopper Geek!

If you do blog about visiting breweries – or any other subject related to beer – then we also have an epic contest to discover the best blogger out there. Running in parallel in the UK/Europe and the USA we have two awards to bestow on the unsung heroes who log time at their keyboards to tell the world about the wonders of beer. You guys are awesome – it’s high time your dedication and talent was rewarded!

If you regularly write about beer then send us three links to blog posts you have written that best encapsulate what you are about. Tell us why you feel these posts should win you the title and our hand-picked expert judges – no strangers to writing themselves – will cast their eyes over your work and select a worthy victor from our UK/Europe awards and one from our US entrants. If you write well and have a huge passion for beer – the Beer Blogger Geek could be you.
