Born To Die has died, aged 45 days. This beer was born fast and chose to live fast. Preferring to check out in its prime and flavoursome best, rather than to live an induced, bland and tasteless life. A short lived legend. Myths and legends die hard in the craft beer fraternity. Lauded for the extra dimension they provide, the reality of near-infinite possibilities to make the world a better place.

A beer that spent its formative years committed to changing the world, one glass at a time. This feisty fellow went out with a bang. A trailblazing pioneer and a beacon of hope for those who follow. There is no finer testament to the good intentions of this beer than its ultimate sacrifice. In a vogue dominated by age and self-preservation it will be remembered for its selfless act. An absolute homage to youth. Joining that legion of interstellar burn outs - from Dean to Hendrix to Cobain.

Faster and faster, until the thrill of speed overcomes the fear of death. In a world of fast, the final sin is slow. No explanation, no mix of words, music or memory could touch the sense of knowing this beer. In its short and stellar career, this beer acquired a reputation as a brilliant and mercurial alchemist. It combined creative flair and sartorial style with a passion for life and death.

No better words summarise its approach to both than its own: ‘Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in your dotage and well preserved, but rather a full throttle roller-coaster kick-ass ride, arriving at the top of your game and in your prime, and loudly screaming “Fuck! What a Ride! Let’s go again!”’

It is survived by the yeast and an illegitimate half-sister living in Guatemala. The meek may inherit the earth but the fast will beat them to the after party. Requiescat in pace. Farewell dear friend, you made a difference and we salute you.

Born To Die, born 21 May 2015, died 04 July 2015. Available in the online shop now and in our UK Bars from 7pm today. Enjoy it while you can!

Jase - Yes, we will be brewing this again at some point, so stand by! Actually, it'll be interesting to see how the flavours of the 04.07 Born To Die will have muted when the next dated version comes out...

Riley_P - Yes, once it reaches its 'Death Date' you will no longer be able to purchase it anywhere.

Silly question - is it really going to be withdrawn from sale on the 4th of July?
