I AM PUNK

Last month, together with our community we launched I AM PUNK, a digital tsunami which flooded social media with thousands of images of our awesome Equity Punks and passionate staff, who embody everything we love about the punk ethos. I AM PUNK was designed to give our community a platform to celebrate the punk mentality of individualism, diversity and not being told how to behave by The Guardian.
After we shot 2,500 Equity Punks and friends at our AGM in April, we’ve been travelling up and down the country, meeting more awesome Equity Punks to hear their unique stories and capture their images. From Emily the pipeline engineer, to Austin the wheelchair basketball enthusiast, to Kay the offshore worker/pole dancer, we’ve built up a compendium of the most unique and most punk individuals from across the country.
I AM PUNK took the digital world by storm, and today we’ll be taking our celebration of punk to the streets. Literally. And we want your help…
From today, our awesome Equity Punks are going to be taking over cities up and down the country to spread our message of diversity and individualism. We’ll be fly posting our I AM PUNK message all over London, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Birmingham, Cardiff, Leeds, Manchester and Sheffield, making our Equity Punks infamous along the way.
But it doesn’t stop there. Because we want you guys to get involved in the biggest guerrilla experiment the UK has ever seen. Next week we are going to giving away thousands of vinyl I AM PUNK posters to you, our community, to put up anywhere that needs a punk injection. You can redeem I AM PUNK posters from our online shop, or pick one up in any one of our UK bars.
What you do with them is completely up to you. So help us spread our message across the UK. The message that punk cannot be defined and cannot be contained.
