New BrewDog Draft Beer Towers!

New BrewDog Draft Beer Towers!

We believe that kegged craft beer is the future of the UK beer market.

And now our new Custom BrewDog bar fonts have arrived and are ready to rock. These menacing, industrial and utilitarian fonts have 2 flow control faucets installed so bars can decide to run either one or two of our kegged beers through them.

kegs_400

We also just took delivery of 300 shiny new kegs to keep up with demand on our kegged beers.

To have one installed in your bar, email james@brewdog.com

Most of these comments say much more ab out the state of the beer market than we previously realised. No wonder pubs all over Britain are closing if they are so poorly lit you can't even see the bar! What a monumental load of cock...There is a massive gap in the market, and this is about to fill it. Looking forward to it!
Dave H 13.08.2010 @ 12:11pm
Granted most of the Keg I have seen have not been craft . But if I or friends of mine walk in a pub and don't see a hand pump we walk out .I do try the yank brews on Keg and the ones I've tried have been good . But only available at certain places that also have draft .The unfortunate thing is Keg Means Smooth ...........
tony killen 12.08.2010 @ 3:03pm
sorry barm stupid typo of course most american beers are kegged my mind must be wandering to september when i will be visiting STONE BREWERY who i belive may be interested in buying the HIGHGATE BREWERY for its uk launch!!??.But back to the argument many outlets are not geared up for cask dispense BREWDOG will be able to open up in new areas (hopefully not upmarket tossers bars !!)
Benjamin Nunn 12.08.2010 @ 1:33pm
This kind of news feels like a bit of a let down to me. I didn't buy my Brewdog shares to support a third wave of keg proliferation!Cask should be the flagship product. Always.
Dave Paton 12.08.2010 @ 11:25am
There's a ton of places that don't have any cask tho, or the setup, ability or willingness. They'll definitely be set for keg tho.......
Barm 12.08.2010 @ 12:38am
A couple of years ago I was in a pub that had Paradox on cask. They were selling it at the same price as all the other real ales, I think it was £2.50 a pint at the time … I got it confirmed later, the pub was losing money on that, but we took advantage.I'm just back from drinking cask Trashy Blonde with some well-educated 20-somethings who were also all drinking cask Trashy Blonde. The idea that you can only reach trendy young hipsters with kegged beer is a bit of a chimera if you ask me. It depends on the local bar landscape.
Gareth Young 12.08.2010 @ 12:04am
Thats not to say I wouldnt prefer something like Paradox on cask. Had the Islay one at a ratebeer gathering a few years ago. It was fucking outrageous.
Gareth Young 12.08.2010 @ 12:02am
One of the benefits of kegging beer is that you dont need to waste time conditioning the beer in a cask. With very hoppy beers this is important because hop aromatics fade very quickly. If you make a very hoppy beer, then keg it, you preserve much more of the hop character. I also find the higher carbonation level feels better body-wise in an ipa and releases the hop aroma more significantly.

Wow this is a great resource.. I’m enjoying it.. good article
Barm 11.08.2010 @ 5:44pm
Don't know where you get your information Tony but most American craft beer is kegged. It's worth pointing out that the kegged beer we're talking about is not the same as the keg stuff CAMRA fought against. It's better beer in the first place, it's not filtered, it's not pasteurised so it's technically much closer to 'real ale' than it is to John Smith's Smooth.
tony killeen 11.08.2010 @ 3:19pm
cask vs keg both have merits go to the states and the vast majority of quality beers are cask STONE,DOGFISH ,ANCHOR etc etc etc ,Both versions have a place in the market place. The USA is gradually introducing some of its beers on cask ,(good example rattle & hum bar new york).Be aware kegging a beer doesnt mean they do not offer a BOTTLE CONDITION version of the same product..AFTERTHOUGHT HOW MANY BREWDOG BEERS ARE BOTTLE CONDITIONED!!!(PUNK, I DONT THINK SO! )THEY ARE CLEARLY SEEING WHERE THE MARKET IS FAILING AND ADDRESING THAT SHORTFALL i only wonder at what price point brewdog will sell for, my guess is £3.50 per pint and upwards to the public .
Barm 11.08.2010 @ 2:48pm
There is quite a gap between saying "we can get kegged beer into lots of venues that won't touch cask with a bargepole" and saying "keg (not cask) is the future for craft beer in the UK."
martin 11.08.2010 @ 10:21am
it's not a matter of cask being better than keg, or vice versa. they are two distinct products. if there is going to be a 'craft beer revolution' in the UK then SOME craft beer HAS to go in kegs. There wont be the market penetration otherwise - publicans are less likely to stock a cask product and cold fizz drinkers aren't gonna try it.
dave 11.08.2010 @ 9:10am
What type of bars are people going into that are so dark they cant see non shiney things, do the bar staff dress in space suits?
Bjorn Berg 10.08.2010 @ 10:51pm
Not a huge fan but I still think its a great idea. People will recognise it straight away.
Barm 10.08.2010 @ 10:06pm
If cask is so crap, why are so many American craft brewers starting to do it?
craig garvie 10.08.2010 @ 7:14pm
quite like the tap. bt prefer cask over keg any day. but i can live with keg if not overcarbonated.man i love US beers but hate them on tap.
Dave Paton 10.08.2010 @ 4:40pm
I like it. Simple and the bars i go into are rarely so dark i can't see stuff. Well up for kegged beer too. I like my beer to taste fresh, not flat and old.
martin 10.08.2010 @ 2:51pm
@daveh - how many craft beers have you had on keg?
tony killeen 10.08.2010 @ 1:37pm
roll with it some of the best beers in the world are keg eg."oak aged arrogant bastard" not be long before we see STONE BREWERY set up in the uk (strongly rumored)hopefully give the stone clone something to think about!!unfortunately pump font looks like a length of black drainpipe which unless it is illuminated will be lost in the gloom in most night time bars!!
Dave H 10.08.2010 @ 11:27am
Keg beer is crap it never tastes as good as a Hand Pump beer. I will try it if I see it though I don't hold much hope . Mini barrels for homesale will work though....
John 10.08.2010 @ 9:46am
These look awesome. Totally disagree with the previous comments. BrewDog isnt about shiny steel and flashy bar gimmicks! Love the gritty, utilitarian look. Completely BrewDog. A.Madden, I'm assuming by BluePeter you mean bespoke, custom made and hand crafted? Would you expect them to go with a mass manufactured, factory built option? Think about.
B.Henrici 10.08.2010 @ 8:54am
I would have to agree with Madden. The gold of the Paradox label would be cool.
Tim Meagher 10.08.2010 @ 12:56am
yep, not a chance you'd see that tap in a bar at night, when the lights are turned down, you'd have to know the tap was already there, dark pub, shiny taps!!!!
A.Madden 10.08.2010 @ 12:44am
In the name of constructive feedback, I agree it will be hard to see and also looks like something made on Blue Peter in that photo. 1 kitchen roll inner tube, some paint and cellotape. Bobs your uncle. Might look better with the black and some gold, like the paradox bottle? Maybe thats why I,m not a designer?
Daniel [Schnille och Schmak] 10.08.2010 @ 12:44am
Mmmm, shiny.
Sam Newell 10.08.2010 @ 12:01am
shoul retail mini kegs! Great way for people to enjoy kegs from the comfort of thier own home.
Jon 09.08.2010 @ 11:29pm
In a low-lit bar no one is going to notice the black matt. Something shinier would work better. You're right about keg being the future, though.
Ed 09.08.2010 @ 11:27pm
You'd have been better off using a stuffed rodent.
Edwin Hemsley 09.08.2010 @ 10:59pm
Thats the first bad design you have done, sorry but it looks more like a mail box. What time is the last call.
