Throughout history and fiction, disputes have been settled by picking a champion to represent you in battle against your adversaries. Clans Chattan and Kay did it in 1396, Tyrion Lannister did it in Game of Thrones, The McMahons did it at Wrestlemania 2000 and now, each of the beers in this year’s Prototype Challenge has a champion to proclaim their cause from the digital rooftops.

Still undecided about which of our Prototype beers to vote for? Let these guys tell you why you should vote for their beloved brewski!

Milk Stout

Kirsty - Equity Punk Ranger

"Tasting this was an absolute wow moment, I’ve never tasted any other dark beer like this and it’s something completely different from anything we have in our range. I don’t think anything is as universally likeable as this beer, it has chocolate and coffee and is just massively smooth! It will totally complete the BrewDog range if it wins the Prototype Challenge. Even my mum, someone who doesn’t drink beer at all, took one sip of this and was totally blown away!”

Session IPL

Tibor - Brewteam

“The IPL has the aroma of lemongrass coupled with orangey and berry notes. It has that classic Bohemian-lager crisp maltiness coupled with that pithy, dry, subtle bitterness that comes with the dry hopping. This has put something classic in to a new light, and damn it’s good. This is possibly the perfect gateway beer for first time craft beer drinkers, but also something that seasoned beer fans will also absolutely love!”

Hopped-Up Brown Ale

Rob - Munitions and Propaganda

“If this beer was a superhero it would definitely be Wolverine. It’s aggressive, it’s bitter and it’s been around for hundreds of years. If you’re a beer geek and you’re not looking for an entry level beer, this is the beer to vote for. It’s pithy, resinous and just mouth-coatingly bitter; much more bitter than I was expecting. So if you like super-bitter hoppy beers, this one should get your vote!”

Black IPA

Luke - Production Projects Assistant

"Black is obsidian, it’s the prince of darkness, it’s rock and roll! The aroma of this Black IPA is like a Simcoe punch in the nose, but in a way that makes you go “that’s bloody lovely!” On the first sip you get rich malt flavours, intense fruitiness and citrus levels that will make you say “please, don’t stop!” Think you know IPA? Think again! IPA is back. In Black!”

So there you have it. Our champions have had their say and given you their reasons to vote for each beer! Now, it’s over to you!

You can pick up the 2015 Prototype Challenge beers in any of our UK bars or from our online shop and then can cast your vote for your favourite here. Which becomes a regular brew? Well that’s up to you!

The milk stout that i had at the doghouse was a nitro version and it was great. if the milk stout wins you should make it the nitro version

So far the BIPA - but only tried that and the Milk Stout, hence the question! Off to BD Sheffield tonight to try other two :-)

Bernard - Yes they are, the B-Sides did so well that we brought those beers to the Prototype stage. Which is your favourite so far?

Dean - Can't argue with that...
Bernard 15.12.2015 @ 12:59pm
Are the Black IPA and the Milk Stout the same as the B-Sides of the same name/type that were around recently? cheers
Dean 15.12.2015 @ 12:49pm
Whatever Rob says. Obviously

Session India Lager gets my vote!

Tried all four - Milk Stout and Session IPL at the top for me, then the Black IPA and the Hopped-Up Brown. All interesting beers though although the first two are more unusual styles
