Texas Joe's hits BrewDog Shoreditch

Nothing goes better with beer than awesome, smokey, meaty BBQ food. And lots of it. That's why we're stoked to have signed up Texas Joe's to start serving up some of the smokiest stacks of prime beef, pork, chicken and links this side of the Lone Star State, all in our very own BrewDog Shoreditch!
From Friday 11th October, we will have a full menu of tasty grub to chow down on while enjoying your usual craft brews. Here's a little preview of what sort of things you can expect, along with some suggested beer pairings!
Pork shoulder with beans, slaw and BBQ sauce with a 5am saint
Hot link sausages with a side of Texan chilli and a Dead Pony Club
Beef brisket with a side of chilli cheese fries and a Punk IPA
1/2 smoked chicken with smoked corn on the cob and a Fake Lager
What's that? You want something sweet? We got your back. Try the chocolate and pecan brownie and a Cocoa Psycho or a Banana Pudding and a wicked AB14. Go on, you earned it.
The man himself, our good pal Joe, is pretty psyched about what's to come;
"As a born and bred Texan, BBQ is a way of life, and we have a very particular way of doing it. I'm as passionate about BBQ as BrewDog is about great craft beer; we both refuse to accept the status quo and their inferior offerings. We're here to change things and people's perceptions. I am here to spread the full custom gospel of Texas cuisine and its slow smoked meats. Just as BrewDog won't accept a world full of generic mass produced lager, we won't accept a world of imitation BBQ. This is a call to saddle up and ride with us to a promised land of great food and great beer, you deserve nothing but the finest."
So, Joe, what's your best advice for someone browsing this menu?
"Get all three meats at once! The Texan trinity of BBQ is brisket, ribs and sausage. We smoke our brisket low and slow, meaning at a low temperature and for a very long time. Sometimes a brisket can take 18 hours to smoke. When it's ready it is the most delicious cut of meat around. Our sausages are made for us by Richard H. Turner of Hawksmoor. He took inspiration from the classic Texas Hot Guts found in the Texas hill country town of Elgin. It's an all beef sausage flavoured with beer and spices that will change the way you think of sausage forever."
And finally, we asked Joe why BrewDog Shoreditch made sense as a venue for his first BBQ joint;
"Craft beer and great BBQ have a lot in common. It takes a lot of hard work and know how to get it right. The pit master and the brewer have to be passionate about what they are creating and cut no corners else the final product will suffer. We live for great beer and great BBQ. Life is too short for anything else."
There's loads more to be added to the menu too, but we'll leave you to check that out for yourself. Hit up BrewDog Shoreditch from Friday 11th October and let us know what epic BBQ and beer combos you discover.
