THE GREAT BREWDOG BAR HUNT 2016

As we move into the second half of the year it is high time we dusted off the covers of our BrewDog Bar Hunt Atlas to scour the globe once again. We have a hit list of UK and International Sites on the radar, and as ever we are drafting our legion of craft beer fans to aid us in that quest. As we can’t be everywhere at once, your help in unearthing potential sites can often be the difference in us opening a cutting-edge craft beer bar in a particular city.
Oh, and if that weren’t reward enough, there’s also a £1,000 finder’s fee!
Everyone’s favourite pavement-pounding competition exists to put new BrewDog bars in a city near you, and for 2016 we are going International. We’re always looking for potential sites to open up in amazing cities (or specific areas within cities), and we have two lists of locations below that we are majoring in for the remainder of this year. Whether in the UK or overseas, we like to rock a certain look with our bars, so here are the all-important details to note down before you start searching!
· 1,800 – 4,000 square feet in size (550 – 1,200 square metres)
· Ground floor location, all on one level preferred.
· Prominent frontages with lots of cool windows are ideal!
· Corner sites always work well for a BrewDog bar
· Ideally away from major licensed/leisure areas – no retail or leisure parks
If you are in the UK and know of somewhere in your city that fits all of those criteria and would be a perfect place to convert into a palace of craft beer, here’s what you have to do. Make a note of the location whilst out on the road and get in touch with our man on the case, the appropriately named Richard Street (Richard.Street@brewdog.com). For 2016 we are paying particular attention to the following locations. How about prefixing ‘BrewDog…’ to these, beerfans?
· Edinburgh
· Oxford
· Cambridge
· Peckham
· Brixton
As we said above, for this year’s Great BrewDog Bar Hunt we are looking further afield, into the further reaches of the atlas. We have some great International sites in mind for new bars! Berlin and Amsterdam are on course, but for new BrewDog bars overseas, the same specifications apply as for UK bars in terms of size and style. If you spy one in the following locations please email our expert globe-trotter Victoria Scott-Lewis (or Victo to us) on victo@brewdog.com!
· Copenhagen
· Reykjavik
· Vienna
· Zurich
· Paris
You can submit your entries into the 2016 International Bar Hunt until the 31st August – so be sure and do your local exploration before then and email either Richard or Victo if you find somewhere perfect! Not only could you be rewarded with a £1,000 finder’s fee – but you would also gain something much more enduring. A BrewDog bar in your city. Best of luck!

A bar in Woking would be perfect. They are the HQ of SAB Miller but that office is closing down, now they have been swallowed up. A bar in the town, which is really going places, would stop all the locals drinking terrible mass-market beer - and I can get the bus to have a fresh beer!
Lisbon
The fact there still isn't a Brewdog in Ireland is beyond ridiculous. Inverness is another obvious gap given proximity to Ellon.
This would be the coolest pub in the country, tourists will enjoy and the locals... Will enjoy too!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Angels&Gypsies restaurant: recently closed, large full fronted restaurant space with kitchen + large basement bar, owned by hotel, they might want to get rid
Library: has recently closed
Father Red Cap: great old pub, been out of full time use for ages
We have an University, and more and more tourism.

There are so many small breweries in Toronto who would make amazing guest taps. Financial district would of course be the prime location, but the areas around Queen Street West and Liberty Village would be great locations too. Get it done before May next year and I'll be at the grand opening!
The bright lights of Turriff would be great for a BrewDog bar. Imagine being able to drink Punk IPA on Turra Show weekend instead of the bland Carlsbeleeeeergh slops.
Know there are tax issues etc with Australia, but if there's ever a bar to be opened there it has to be Boundary Street in Brisbane.
Camden Road in Dublin is another place. Third time there this week and it's made me think it needs a BrewDog now more than ever
Final place is Krakow. Was so surprised by this place. Possibly the best craft beer scene I've ever stumbled across. So many great bars, breweries and people are crazy about the beers.
After the excellent one in Florence, disappointing in Bologna and decent in Rome, Milan is a big city with a great beer culture that is still missing BrewDog.
Colwyn Bay pub could be an excellent partner in a central location, with Scott Duff as a decent contender.
There are many ship references in Brewdog culture (from James's North Sea links). Many of the locations mentioned in the bar search have either dock or riverside frontage. A lot of places have floating bars which can be made staff/customer safe and integrate with neighbouring concerns from a planning perspective.
Would Brewdog consider a floating bar (it isn't excluded above)?
Here's a recent Edinburgh planning application for a moored structure: http://www.architectsjournal.co.uk/news/-gras-submits-plans-for-a-floating-bar-in-edinburgh/10009016.fullarticle
Here's an ad for a moored/mobile vessel advertised as a restaurant (Leith so handy for hotel multiples on a visit, great restaurants for foodie tourists, not far from the SMWS vaults for folks who like interesting drams as well as great beer): http://www.edincomprop.co.uk/restaurants.html
This might work for Edinburgh, Oxford, Cambridge, Copenhagen, Reykjavik or Paris. Clearly not corner units, but pretty cool if feasible. Views?
We got Wild Beers only bar, Sandford Park Ale house (CAMRA Pub of the year), Favorite Beers (shop), Jolly Brewmaster and stacks of other awesome places. The people of Cheltenham can't get enough of excellent beers!
Plus we're having a town wide beer week in September - http://www.cheltbeerweek.co.uk/.
We got game!!!!
Baltic House is a great spot for a bar , but plenty others
City of culture , has hosted major events mtv , radio since 2013 ranked number one in the world for Halloween and other festivities. The place has great sights to see plenty of history a great night life particularly Waterloo street, Shiquay street.
Any or all of those cities would be terrific
Riga, Latvia.
And most certainly Aberdeenshire needs more. Other than DogTap, which serves Ellon okay, there is nothing. Inverurie would be nice for a start.
Once the spirits are available, open a shop at Aberdeen Airport and get these foreign travelers taking Brewdog to their home cities. Spread the word!
I will keep my eyes open for the perfect location!!! The university side of town would be perfect as the drinkers have a more refined pallete for your delicious craft beers!
Plus....I've just bought my husband shares for his 30th Birthday so he needs a local Brew Dog to make the most of his Equity for Punks status!!
The mission to find the perfect venue has started......
Camberley would be another good choice if Reading wasn't possible as there are tons of good restaurants and a cinema but not as many great bars for before/after :)
The poor beer drinker is stuck with cheap big mass produced beer but craft beer is slowly taking off in oz! Brewdog might be the push craft beer in oz needs
· Brixton
Oh come on! The world doesn't revolve around London.
