Another week on Planet BrewDog, another week of amazing new beer. And we haven’t even reached Friday yet (stand by for something truly incredible to rock your beery world tomorrow). Before then, we have a trio of beers hitting the online shop today that encompass everything we love about craft brewing. Released yesterday to our army of Equity Punks – who get first dibs on everything we launch – they are now live in the BrewDog shop.

So let’s take a rundown on this epic set of beers…

Alice Porter

When we turned ten last year we introduced #ReBrewDog into the equation – a series of returning beers of old, recreated as they first were for a new audience of craft beer drinkers. The latest #ReBrewDog release is out today – Alice Porter. Enigmatic dark alchemy at its finest, Alice is a roasty 6.2% ABV porter brewed with Sorachi Ace, as was the original that was first brewed on a freezing Fraserburgh afternoon back in 2010.

We love turning the clock back to beers that predate our move to Ellon, and Alice Porter is one of our most popular of those. It sold out in double quick time when launched at our flagship bar in Aberdeen (the only BrewDog Bar in existence at the time). A smooth and roasty porter, with Sorachi Ace on board the hops give a balance of citrus, spice and darker fruit that really bring the beer to life. It’s complex, rewarding, and perfectly sums up #ReBrewDog.

Sonic Boom v2

Next up we have the latest iteration of our hop-changing IPA Sonic Boom. As we revealed yesterday v2 majors in an experimental hop from the Pacific Northwest of the United States – HBC 438. Used in the dry-hop stage alongside three high-alpha US sluggers, the hop brings a beer unlike any we have brewed before, majoring in flavours of bergamot, coconut, lime leaf; sticky pine sap lead into biting lemongrass on the finish.

Those of you who managed to try the debut Sonic Boom, which featured German hops, should detect a fairly huge – and equally fascinating – difference with this new version. Our team of brewers and QA crew found HBC 438 in the experimental hopfields of Yakima and were blown away by its complexity. Recently given a proprietary name – Sabro – this hop is definitely one to watch out for. Except you don’t need to. Sonic Boom is here to convince you of its power.

Baltic Fleet – BrewDog vs Bevog

Finally for this week, the latest Equity Punk collaboration release hits our online shop today. Brewed with our friends at Bevog we have dropped anchor on an epic Baltic Porter; a hugely underrated beer style. When the guys from Austria rocked up to Ellon we decided to round the beer out at 7.2% ABV and to raise the dark fruit levels by also adding plums into the brew. Baltic Fleet is dark, roasty and has a hugely deep redolent flavour.

The beer is live in our online shop now and also launches in its native Austria on draft in a few hours’ time. If you are lucky enough to be in Vienna tonight you can catch a joint BrewDog/Bevog tap takeover at Statt-Beisl im WUK, starting at 5pm. Baltic Fleet will be launching there with a trio of beers from either brewery! The Bevog guys are also launching the beer at their epic taproom in Bad Radkersburg tomorrow.

Both Alice Porter and Sonic Boom are pouring across our UK BrewDog Bars from 6pm tonight, Thursday 21st June – and all three are available to buy in our online shop right now.
